16th day of teaching practice 👩‍🏫👩‍🏫👩‍🏫

Today I reached the school by 8:30 am. After arriving, I went to sign attendance and then to morning duty.
When I was taking rest in the first hour, one student came and asked me to take their first hour as a substitution for Raichel ma'am. So I went to the class, and started the class with a silent prayer. The students were not listening to me. So I strictly asked them to sit down, otherwise they would get punishment. Then they sit silently. After that, I asked about the portion Raichel Ma'am taught them in the previous class. The portion was 'Sum of outer angles'. Then I drew a triangle and marked its 2 interior angles, and then asked one student to come and find the third angle. After that, I called three students to find the outer angles using the result linear pair. Then I called on one more student to find the third angle by using the resultant sum of outer angles. They got the same degrees. To make a clear understanding, I showed then that the sum of outer angles of a triangle is equal to the sum of central angles.

In the second hour, I went to my class, 8D. I started the class with a silent prayer and asked students to sit in their respective groups. I started the class by talking about Thomas Alva Edison.

Then I checked students' prior knowledge of the concept inversion method by giving an activity card. Students answered the question easily.
After that, I presented a question to the students and asked them to solve the problem using the inversion method. Students tried their best, but they didn't know how to solve it. So I introduced the method of giving or naming the unknown quantity as 'x'. I explained each step to the students. And make a clear understanding about which variable should be given the 'x' variable, then the way to write the relationship stated in the problem and the method of solving the problem.

Then I showed a model which gives a clear understanding of the equation in one variable. After that, I asked students to write the question on the activity card in their notebook and try to solve it using algebraic forms. I concluded the problem by showing a chart of the algebraic method of addition and subtraction. Then I moved onto another problem, which included multiplication and division. I presented the problem and asked the students to solve it. But surprisingly, they answered my problem. So I asked one student to explain the steps to her friends. He explained it correctly. So I presented the next chart of the algebraic method of multiplication and division. I ended the class by giving the students. With the help of students, I got half an hour more and successfully completed my two lesson plans.

In the third and fourth hours, I prepared my remaining lesson plans.

In the afternoon, I went to non-meal distribution duty and had food with friends.

In the 5th and 6th hours, I unexpectedly got substitution hours in my 8D class. So I started the class by recalling the studied algebraic methods of addition and subtraction, multiplication, and division. Then I presented a real-life problem to solve and called on each student to elicit the problem. My students successfully solved the problem.
Then we moved on to the exercise problem. The first problem was similar to what we had already done. So I called one student to read the question and answer. Without my help, my students answered the problem correctly. Then I moved onto the second problem, which included the result of the linear pair. So first, I assisted my students in recalling the concept of a linear pair. Then they asked them about the result: "The sum of angles of a linear pair is always equal to 180°. After that, I presented and explained the question to the students by drawing the figure. After calling for the result and using the figure, the students easily elicited the answer. So to make it difficult, I presented another question which contains the result of a linear pair, but they need to find the 3 angles by stating the relationship. The students tried their best and finally answered the problem.

As a continuation, I presented another question to the students, which is similar to the problem we had already solved. So I asked a student to read the question and explain it to the whole class. After reading the question, I presented an activity chart and asked students to complete the chart. Students complete the chart and find the answer to the question. Then we did a problem of consecutive natural numbers in the class. I ended the class by giving homework.

In the last hour, I got a substitution class in 8 P1, which is one of my favourite classes. I entered the class and played games with the students to make them smile.

The day ended with evening duty.
